New Rules for Viewing Homes
Basically, you'll need to find the right agent before you find the right property. In 2024, National Association of Realtors (NAR) policies changed because of a lawsuit over agent compensation. Before showing a home to Buyers, all Realtors are required to have a signed representation agreement. It is very important to understand your agent's duties and compensation before signing any exclusive agreement. A seasoned agent knows how to advise you on lending, pricing, negotiations and how to structure the contract.
